Claim #1: Water can cool the digestive tract
This is a myth, water cannot make you cold from the inside, and first we should point out the benefits of drinking water, whatever the temperature. Clearly, it is easier to drink a large amount of cold drink than, for example, to drink hot tea. Why was cold water associated with “cold intestines” in the past? In the summer, people are more prone to stomach problems and various poisonings are more often. Most often, the cause is neither the food nor the drink they consumed, but a combination of heat, bacteria and microbes circulating in the air, and slight dehydration that can cause a stomach reaction. There is no fear of refreshing cold water in the summer or in any other season if you follow the guidelines for a healthy and balanced life.
Claim #2: In summer, you need to drink more water, cold or warm
The claim is more myth than fact because you should be careful about your water, electrolyte, and fluid intake in general throughout the year. How do you know how much fluid you need? The claim is true because drinking cold water can help maintain optimal digestive function.
